Politics dominate our life.

Last week I went with some of my classmates to Market Mall to have some coffee and to shop. I spent a really nice time with them. We went to some shops and we tried some clothes on, but did not like them so much.......so sad. Later that day, we went to Starbucks, and we had our coffee together (I should say they had because i don't drink coffee at all). We sat together and we talked about too many things. Then we started to talk about politics. Lizbeth said that a serious political problem is going on in her country these days and people are suffering too much from this. She thought that the best solution is by having an external power to get rid of the present system. I completely disagreed with her because see what had happened to my country when the US invaded my country and removed the president from his power. My country today is a very dangerous place for every person who live a normal life. I think that we could make Iraq strong enough to stand up on two feet on its own rather than depending on the crazy American military to bring peace to the country. In fact, those American soldiers are very crazy and whenever they see anybody even a child, they will shake like rats. I don't think such a frightened soldiers will bring any peace to the country. I think it is obvious for all of us that some politicians in this world are just aiming to keep their power with them and they don't even care about people's lives. I think that politics are just crazy.

Wow! What a wonderful place!

Last Sunday I went with my family and our friends to Edmonton, specifically to the West Edmonton Mall. Wow I was amazed by the beauty of this place. I've never seen such a great place in my life. Before arriving there i thought it was just a shopping Mall, but later it found that it was one of the greatest places for entertainment. There are places to eat, places to sip coffee and people watch, places to play, places to swim, places to skate, places to watch movies, a place to sleep, and places to walk through for exercise. Wow all these activities can be done in this mall. I won't exaggerate if i say that any person needs at least seven days to go a round the entire Mall. The most amazing thing for me is The World Water park which is one of the world's largest indoor wave pool ( a type of swimming pool in which large waves are artificially generated). It is really fun there. I was astonished by the size of this water wall. The other beautiful thing is the Sea Life Caverns which is an indoor small lake which contains a salt-water habitat with three sea lions and a a huge ship that occupied the middle of the Mall. There you can watch a wonderful sea lion show, or you can take a submarine ride. Can you imagine a submarine!! in a Mall! .Everything in this mall is unbelievable. Finally,shopping is only one part of the mall's universal appeal. Prices are not so expensive there for example i bought many things at a very good price. I just can't believe that all these stores and entertaining places are under one roof. I think this is a really unique place to visit. I think i will never forget this trip in my life.

Enjoy your long weekend

Hi everybody. Today I am going to blog for two reasons. First, because it has been along time since i've blogged. Second, because this is our homework for this long weekend. There is no doubt that all the students need rest after working really hard last week. But I think I am the most tired student of all the students not because the amount of homework that we got but because I have problem sleeping and even taking a nap. Even when I sleep, I have very bad dreams. That's make me nervous and worried all the time. I think that i am suffering from insomnia and i don't know why. Anyway, today i am feeling better than the last few days. I think that this is the best time for everybody to have a rest from class because i feel that everybody looks exhausted because this week we have done the essay and the annotated bibliography and that's too much for all the students. Anyway, i hope that all the students will enjoy their long weekend and having fun. For me, i will work one day and i will go shopping and having fun with some of my classmates. I am so excited about going with them outsisde. Hopefully, we will have fun together. I hpoe that enerybody will spend nice time and have fun this weekend.

We need a rest

Hi everybody

Finally, we did the mid term exams and we finished it. I am really satisfied with my reading and listening exams, but I think that I could've done better job in the writing. I do not know what happened to me during the exam. It was so hot in the classroom that i felt that there is no air around me. At the same time, I had a really bad headache, and that why i did not do so well in the exam. I just think that i could've done better if i was in a better mood than that. Anyway, i was under alot of pressure during the exam time and i just wanted to get it done. I hate exams! and i can not find a reason for that even though I studied really hard beffore the exam's day. I didn't move from my room and even the food my mom brought it to my desk. I am very spoiled. I feel that i am so lucky to have a nice family that supports me all the time, especially when i have exams or difficlties in my life. Now i think we should take a rest after working really hard in the exams. I think it would be a great idea if we will have some days off after the midterm, but thay's not gonna happen anyway. Tommorow we will have a Halloween party with sandy. I think we will have fun tommorow. Everybody will have to do something. I am not sure what to do. I am afraid that I will do something strange because i do'nt know much about this festival. In my country we don't have halloween, instead, we have a similar custom in which children go from house to house asking for snacks and some money. When i was alittle kid, I used to go with my sister and other friends to ask for candy and sweet and guess what! some people throw water on childern just for fun. I had a really good memory about these days and i think that childhood is the nicest stage in everybody's life.

Good luck in the midterm

Hi every body. Now we are in the midterm. Can you believe it! This week is a very hectic week for every student. We have many things to do ......Oh my God. These days my life is only studying. When I go home, I just have my dinner with my little brother because everybody is at work and then take a little snap, then wake up and studying. Isn't that boring? Also I am worried that I do not have enough time to study for the midterm because I have to work Friday night and saturday and I am not allowed to be absent from work because my boss will get mad at me. Last time, she told me that you are working two days and then you phone and say i am sick that is not acceptable,so my situation is critical because all the waring from my boss. First, she was a very nice lady. But later, when i start to call and say that I am sick. She become more mad at me. Whatever, I do not care about my job as i care for my study. I do not care if she gets mad or nor or even if get fired from this job. I work at series in ladies were and it is really busy in the weekend. People are shoping as if they never bought clothes before. They are crazy, especially, lades. Oh my god..... Almost all our cutomers are old ladies. you know old ladies they are crabby and they keep bothering you all the time by there unreasonable questions. Some of them are very nice and they really appreciate your help, while other you feel that their aim is only to bother other people and argue with them. Sometimes they get mad at me for something i am not responsible for and when I told them that they become more and more angrey. you know what i always do? I just ignore them. you know not all the people are the same. Oh.. i feel that i am talking alot about my job. I should think only about the midterm and how to prepare for it. I hope that I will did well in the midterm and good luck for everybody.

Special Days

These three days Friday, saturday, and sunday are very happy days for me. In these days, I have celebration with all my family, friends, and acquaintance. We call this celebration Eid. We congratulate each other and pray special prayer together. The Eid marks the end of Ramadan, the month of fasting. I have very strong feelings in these days because we consider there days as days for forgiveness, moral victory, peace of congregation, fellowship, brotherhood and unity. In these days, we are not only celebrating the end of Ramadan but also we thank the God for the help and the strength he gave to us to be self-controlled during that month. I am writing this post specifically because many of my friends asked me about Ramadan. Every day during the month of Ramadan, We fast (do not eat ) until the sunset. The purpose of this fasting is not only fast from food but also refraining from lying, stealing, greed, envy, and gossip, so it is more spiritiual things. Also in the celebration, Most people wear new and formal clothes and we congratulate each other by saying " Happy Eid".

Cold weather coming up !

I can not believe it! Winter again. Calgary's weather is often changeable. It is notoriously difficult to predict in detail from day to day. In the same day, Calgarian experience four seasons together. I guess they used to it because the grow up in this changeable weather, but for new people the idea is different. It is very hard to adapt to this weather especially in winter because I have never experience such a cold weather in my life. When I was in my country, I always hoped to live in a cold country. When I came here I experience the coldest weather in my life. Inspite the fact that it is very cold and you have to wear to many clothes such as sweaters and a heavy jacket, I love winter and I love the white snow. In my country there is plenty of rain in winter, but snow is extremely rare down there. So much so that I’ve only ever seen a flurry. Now I experience being in a heavy snowfall or waking up and looking outside to see fresh untouched powder that has fallen during the night. Wow, I am getting chills just thinking about it. lol
